A striking pair of Bauhaus-style lounge chairs inspired by the designs of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, combining organically curved chromed tubular steel frames with woven rattan seats and backrests and elegant black lacquered wooden armrests. The design reflects the experimental tubular steel furniture developed by Mies during the late 1920s and early 1930s, including his celebrated cane and chrome seating. The exact production period of this pair is unknown and no attribution marks or proof of authorship are present, so they are offered in the style of Mies van der Rohe rather than as documented originals. The rattan seating was renewed at a later date. In good, solid and comfortable condition, with age-related patina and some broken or missing sections of rattan.
