This exceptional set of two lounge chairs was designed by Peter Maly and produced by Thonet in Germany during the 1980s, continuing the Bauhaus tradition through a contemporary lens. The design combines curved black-lacquered wooden frames with elegant chrome elements, creating a dynamic interplay of materials and lines that feels both architectural and timeless. The wide seats and gently curved armrests provide a generous and highly comfortable seating experience. Seats and backrests are upholstered in black synthetic fabric, stretched over a plastic support frame, and show minimal signs of use. The black wood frames display only very light wear, while the chrome structure remains in excellent condition, underscoring the quality of Thonet’s manufacturing. As a historic producer of bentwood and modern furniture since 1819, Thonet brought its technical expertise to these Bauhaus-inspired lounge chairs, resulting in a refined and durable design that works beautifully in both vintage-focused and contemporary interiors.
