This rare sculptural floor or table lamp was created in 1971 by Italian artist Giuseppe Calonaci and stands as a striking example of experimental Italian design from the early 1970s. The lamp features a clear plexiglass base that supports a series of curved aluminium sheets, creating a dynamic and architectural composition. A distinctive interactive element allows the aluminium sheets to be repositioned using small metal cubes that can be inserted into different holes, enabling the user to alter the form and light effect. Produced in a strictly limited edition of only 300 pieces, this example is numbered 57 and is signed by the artist, confirming its authenticity and collectible value. Preserved in original vintage condition, the lamp shows only minimal traces of wear consistent with age and use. Both a functional light source and a sculptural art object, this piece reflects Calonaci’s exploration of movement, material, and modularity in postwar Italian design.
