Functional scissor wall lamp produced by HALA Zeist in the Netherlands during the 1950s and designed by H. Busquet. The lamp features an extendable scissor arm that allows the light to be positioned closer to the wall or extended outward, offering flexible directional lighting. Its yellow metal shade incorporates Busquet’s patented double shade construction, composed of two rotating elements with adjustable openings that allow the user to control both the direction and intensity of the light. This innovative mechanism reflects the technical ingenuity characteristic of early Dutch modern lighting design. HALA, founded in 1932 by designer Herman Busquet, became one of the pioneering manufacturers of modern lighting in the Netherlands. This example originates from old stock and retains its original HALA brand tag, remaining in very good condition with only minor signs of age and a small dent in the shade.
