Rare first-edition Sappho table lamp designed by Angelo Mangiarotti in the 1960s. One of his most iconic sculptural creations, the lamp features a chromed steel base topped with a mushroom-shaped, mouth-blown Murano glass shade. The glass transitions beautifully from opaque white to a more transparent tone, cleverly concealing the light source while producing a soft, atmospheric glow. A black inner glass element emerges through the smoky pattern, enhancing depth and visual intrigue as the light reflects on its dark surface. This early edition shows the characteristic first-series details beneath the base. In good vintage condition with light traces of use.
