This extremely rare table lamp, generally attributed to A. Pöll for Kalmar Werkstätten and sometimes to J.T. Kalmar, originates from Vienna and is typically dated from the late 1940s to early 1960s. Crafted with a mahogany stained hardwood base and rod, complemented by refined brass fittings and a fabric shade, this example represents the rarer version, as most documented models appear in teak. The brass elements retain a beautiful light vintage patina, enhancing its authentic character. The inner shade shows very minor imperfections that are not visible from the exterior. The height of the shade can be adjusted using brass hooks at the back of the arm, allowing flexible lighting direction. Fitted for a general E27 lightbulb and in great working order, this lamp is a distinguished example of postwar Viennese design.
