This pair of Model AV 53 lounge chairs was designed in 1953 by Arne Vodder for Ivan Schlechter in Copenhagen and produced during the 1950s. A refined example of early Danish modern design, the chairs feature beautifully shaped wooden legs that highlight Vodder’s sculptural sensitivity and attention to proportion. The design combines generous seating comfort with elegant lines and balanced geometry, characteristic of Vodder’s work from this period. Both chairs remain in original condition and retain the Ivan Schlechter maker’s marks underneath, confirming authenticity. The pair is in good vintage condition with normal age appropriate signs of use consistent with the 1950s production. Dimensions: height 80 cm, width 72 cm, depth 65 cm, seat height approximately 38 to 40 cm.
