An original Royal System modular wall unit designed by Poul Cadovius and produced by CADO in Denmark during the late 1960s. Widely regarded as one of the most influential Scandinavian storage systems of the twentieth century, the Royal System transformed interior design through its lightweight architectural appearance, modular flexibility and exceptional craftsmanship. This configuration combines floating teak shelves with a suspended glass-fronted display cabinet, preserving Cadovius' ingenious concealed mounting system that creates the illusion of furniture effortlessly suspended from the wall. The original angled locking brackets ensure both stability and adaptability, allowing the layout to be reconfigured to suit changing interiors. The set includes five wall rails, four original shelves, one extended shelf, six pairs of original shelf brackets with one spare pair, a glass-fronted cabinet with internal glass shelf and the original shelf-mounted display light. Presented in very good vintage condition, it shows only minor age-related wear and discreet mounting marks that are largely concealed when installed. A highly collectible example of Danish Mid-Century Modern design, ideal for living rooms, offices, libraries or design-led commercial interiors.
