This rare desk by Bohuslav Horák for Anthologie Quartett exemplifies his sculptural yet functional design language from the 1980s–1990s. Built in an asymmetrical stepped composition, it features a sculptural block with three drawers on one side and slender tapered legs on the other, balancing mass with lightness. The hand-painted marbled surface in purple, black, and pink tones is accented by a row of abstract head-like forms along the top edge, blurring the line between furniture and commentary. Both playful and severe, the piece reflects Horák’s postmodern voice and his fascination with narrative in design. In very good condition, with light wear and well-preserved finish and details.
