An original Orbital table lamp designed by Piero De Martini, Falconi and Francesco Fois for Reggiani Illuminazione, Italy, during the 1970s. A remarkable example of Italian Space Age design, the lamp combines sculptural simplicity with ingenious functionality. It features a spherical white opaline glass shade resting freely on a clear cylindrical plexiglas base, allowing the globe to be tilted and rotated in multiple directions for fully adjustable illumination. A polished chrome collar houses the upward-facing bulb socket, creating a striking contrast between the luminous opaline glass, transparent acrylic and reflective metal. Retaining its original production label from the designers, this authentic example perfectly captures the experimental spirit of 1970s Italian lighting. Ideal as a table lamp, bedside lamp or sculptural accent, it complements Space Age, Mid Century Modern, Minimalist and contemporary interiors. Presented in very good vintage condition with minor age-related wear, including light surface marks to the chrome and plexiglas, while the opaline glass remains free from damage.
