Iconic PH-43 stool designed by Poul Hundevad in Denmark during the 1960s, inspired by the ancient Guldhøj (Gold Hill) folding chair dating back to circa 1300 BC. This historically significant design reinterprets one of the earliest known pieces of Scandinavian furniture, an example of which is preserved in the National Museum of Denmark. Crafted from solid teak with a beautifully aged dark brown leather seat, the stool combines archaeological inspiration with refined Danish craftsmanship. The clean, X-shaped frame and visible joinery emphasize both structural clarity and material quality. Over time, the leather has developed a rich patina, enhancing its character and authenticity. A timeless and collectible piece that bridges ancient form with mid century modern design, suitable for both functional use and decorative display.
