This pair of Hombre lounge chairs was designed in the 1970s by Burkhard Vogtherr for the Rosenthal Furniture program in Germany. Introduced when Rosenthal expanded beyond porcelain into high quality furniture production at its Espelkamp factory, the series reflects clarity of construction and disciplined proportions. The chairs feature solid wood frames with continuous sled style legs and softly rounded armrests, clearly expressing their structural logic. Loose leather seat and back cushions are set within the frame, providing a relaxed and comfortable seating experience while emphasizing the architectural design. This pair retains its original grey leather upholstery, showing natural patina and light wear consistent with age and use. The wooden frames remain in very good condition with a warm finish and no structural issues, offering a refined example of 1970s German modern design.
