A striking wool rug featuring Pablo Picasso’s celebrated Run of the Bulls design, produced by Ege Axminster Carpets in Denmark as part of the renowned 20th Century Masters collection during the late twentieth century. Woven from high quality wool, the rug captures Picasso’s energetic interpretation of Pamplona’s famous bull run through bold cubist forms, dynamic movement and vibrant colour. The composition transforms one of the artist’s most iconic themes into a large scale textile artwork, creating a powerful visual statement that functions equally as a rug and a collectible design piece. During the 1980s and 1990s, Ege Axminster became internationally recognised for producing licensed carpet designs based on works by masters such as Picasso, Salvador Dalí and Vincent van Gogh, combining artistic heritage with exceptional Danish craftsmanship. Originally sold through prestigious retailers including De Bijenkorf in the Netherlands, this example is identified as design number 80577. Presented in beautifully preserved condition, the rug is clean, fresh and free from noticeable wear, making it an outstanding addition to modern, eclectic, contemporary and collector interiors.
