The Oyster Lounge Chair model F157 with its original ottoman was designed in 1959 by French designer Pierre Paulin for Artifort in the Netherlands and represents an early edition distinguished by its elegant nickel-plated frame. Celebrated for its sculptural, enveloping form, the Oyster chair is an icon of postwar modern design, combining visual softness with a strong architectural presence. This example has been completely restored and newly upholstered in Hallingdahl fabric by Kvadrat, paired with new high-quality foam to ensure lasting comfort and structure. The reupholstery was carried out by a professional upholsterer, respecting the original proportions and character of the design. A refined and highly collectible piece, perfectly suited for both design-focused interiors and serious modernist collections.
