This Optima floor lamp, designed by Hans Due for Fog & Mørup, is a refined example of Danish lighting design from the 1970s, where functionality and restrained form converge. Crafted from metal with a white finish, the lamp reflects the Scandinavian emphasis on clarity, balance, and purposeful design. Produced in Denmark, the Optima model embodies Hans Due’s thoughtful approach to lighting, practical, architectural, and visually understated. Its clean silhouette allows it to integrate effortlessly into both modern and period interiors, functioning as an elegant source of ambient light without overpowering a space. Fog & Mørup, one of Denmark’s most respected lighting manufacturers, was known for collaborating with designers who prioritized quality materials and intelligent construction, qualities clearly present in this piece. The lamp remains in very good original condition, showing only minimal signs of age consistent with careful use, and retaining its original finish and structural integrity.
A timeless lighting object, this floor lamp appeals to collectors and design enthusiasts seeking authentic Scandinavian design rooted in craftsmanship and functional beauty.
