This octagonal pedestal coffee table is crafted from fossil limestone and stands out for its architectural form and rich material character. The radially segmented tabletop is composed of individually cut stone sections, divided by fine brass inlays that emphasize the geometric layout and add a subtle decorative contrast. The limestone surface displays natural inclusions of ammonites and orthoceras, a defining feature of fossil stone sourced from the Erfoud region, giving each segment unique visual depth and historic presence. The tabletop rests on a concealed sub-disc of the same material, creating a layered construction with a refined shadow line along the edge. Supporting the top is a solid octagonal pedestal base, carefully proportioned to provide stability and a strong sculptural profile. Both the top and base retain their original transparent resin coating, applied to enhance the contrast and depth of the fossil stone. Minor wear and localized peeling of the coating along the edges are present, consistent with age and use, and contribute to the table’s authentic vintage character. A distinctive statement piece that works beautifully in modern, postmodern, or curated interiors.
