An exceptionally rare Model 51110 eight-light chandelier designed by Gunnel Nyman for Idman Oy, Finland, during the 1950s. Eight opaline glass shades rise like flower buds from gracefully curved brass arms, each framed by a delicate looped-brass gallery. The organic, asymmetrical arrangement creates a sculptural sense of movement while maintaining visual lightness despite its impressive one-metre diameter. The brass retains a rich, naturally varied patina, while the opaline glass shades are later replacements, carefully selected to complement the original design. When illuminated, they produce a soft, atmospheric glow. A highly collectible example of Finnish Mid-Century Modern lighting and Nyman’s poetic approach to organic form. Diameter: approximately 100 cm.
