A refined Model 232 “China Cabinet” designed by Børge Mogensen in 1951, combining the functional clarity of Danish Modernism with subtle references to traditional Asian furniture. The cabinet features a teak veneer case supported by an oak base, opening to reveal a contrasting birch-lined interior with adjustable shelves and practical pull-out wooden trays. Particularly distinctive are the circular brass key handles, which serve as both decorative details and functional locks. This restrained combination of materials and historical references reflects Mogensen’s approach to reinterpreting traditional furniture through a modern Scandinavian vocabulary. The back retains the original FDB Møbler stamp and Model 232 marking, documenting its manufacture. Presented in very good vintage condition, with minor marks and traces of use consistent with age.
