This rectangular coffee table was designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen and manufactured by France and Søn in Denmark during the 1960s, a landmark period for Danish modern furniture. The table retains its original manufacturer’s label located beneath the tabletop, confirming its authenticity and provenance. Crafted entirely from solid teak, the surface displays beautiful and expressive wood grain patterns that highlight the natural character of the material. A distinctive feature of this design is its practical construction. The table can be easily disassembled into four legs and one tabletop by simply unscrewing the legs, without the need for tools. This functional solution reflects the innovative thinking of the 1960s, when furniture was increasingly designed for efficient transport and flexible living. Preserved in very good condition, the table has been carefully restored by the renowned Møbelfabrik workshop, drawing on over 35 years of expertise in professional wood treatments. A timeless and functional piece for both modern and mid-century interiors.
