The Mascotte chair was designed in the 1980s by Baroni and Pastori for the Italian brand Plana and reflects the era’s innovative approach to lightweight and functional design. The seat and backrest are formed from a single piece of cotton fabric suspended within a beech wood frame, creating a relaxed yet structured seating experience. The frame consists of two interlocking wooden bodies that connect securely when the chair is opened and fold neatly when closed, emphasizing portability and intelligent construction. Its continuous wooden frame with softly rounded edges enhances the chair’s minimalist character. The wooden structure remains in very good condition with normal signs of wear, while the cotton seat shows visible staining from use and can be retained for authenticity or replaced according to preference.
