A spectacular Model 1088 wall or ceiling light by Marioni Paolo, handcrafted in Italy during the 1970s and preserved as new old stock. Designed in the form of a radiant sunburst, this sculptural fixture features a central sandblasted opaline glass diffuser surrounded by eight irregular flame-shaped ceramic rays finished in genuine gold leaf. The composition is mounted on a glossy deep blue glazed ceramic backplate, creating a striking contrast between the rich blue surface and the luminous gold accents. Handcrafted with exceptional attention to detail, the piece functions equally well as a wall sconce or flush-mount ceiling light, making it a dramatic focal point for contemporary, Postmodern, Hollywood Regency or eclectic interiors. Fitted with a halogen socket compatible with LED bulbs, it combines vintage Italian craftsmanship with modern practicality. Never used and retaining its original Marioni Paolo markings, this rare 1970s design is both a functional light and a sculptural work of art.
