An iconic Luzette pendant lamp designed by the pioneering German architect and industrial designer Peter Behrens for Siemens-Schuckert during the 1920s. Considered one of the defining figures of early modern design, Behrens profoundly influenced twentieth-century architecture and industrial design through his functional yet elegant approach. This authentic pendant perfectly reflects that philosophy, featuring a two-part shade composed of an acid-etched glass upper section and a bowl-shaped opaline glass diffuser that produces a beautifully soft, evenly diffused light. The original burnished steel gallery and rim are complemented by finely crafted brass and copper fittings, while the original steel suspension chain enhances its authentic industrial character. Professionally cleaned, fully rewired and PAT safety tested, the lamp is fitted with 100 cm of burgundy fabric-covered cable and supplied ready for immediate use with an E27 LED bulb. Presented in excellent vintage condition with a rich natural patina and light wear consistent with age and use, this rare pendant is a highly collectible example of Bauhaus-era German design.
