The LP 269 ceiling or wall sconce was designed by Carlo Nason for A.V. Mazzega in Italy during the 1970s and is a striking example of Italian mid-century modern lighting. The piece features substantial hand-blown Murano glass elements in transparent, purple, and amber-brown tones, creating a rich interplay of color, texture, and light. The deeply textured glass surfaces diffuse illumination beautifully, producing a warm, atmospheric glow while maintaining a strong sculptural presence when unlit. Nason’s refined approach to material and form is evident in the balanced composition, where bold glass volumes are paired with precise construction. Versatile in use as either a ceiling light or wall sconce, this model exemplifies the craftsmanship and expressive materiality that define Italian lighting design of the period.
