The sculptural Little Beaver Lounge Chair by Frank O. Gehry for Vitra, created from layers of corrugated cardboard and reflecting Gehry’s radical experiments with unconventional furniture materials. Developed from the ideas explored in his celebrated Easy Edges and Experimental Edges furniture, the chair transforms humble cardboard into a substantial, organic seating form with an intentionally rough and expressive silhouette. Both functional armchair and sculptural design object, Little Beaver is a distinctive example of Gehry’s experimental approach to furniture design. This example is presented in vintage condition with patina and age-related wear, characteristic of layered corrugated cardboard. The original Vitra brass plaque is no longer present, although its mounting recess remains clearly visible. Non-smoking item.
