An extraordinary almost life-size motorcycle sculpture attributed to Tom Dixon, probably created in connection with Habitat during the late 1990s. Inspired by the iconic form of a classic Harley-Davidson, the motorcycle is intricately handcrafted from rattan, wicker and bamboo, with remarkable attention given to the tank, wheels, fenders, handlebars, headlight, engine, exhaust and side bags. Different weaving techniques and bent natural materials transform the familiar motorcycle silhouette into a highly sculptural design object combining craftsmanship, pop culture and contemporary design. Presented in very good to excellent original condition, the wickerwork remains exceptionally well preserved with only a subtle age-related patina. A rare statement piece for lofts, hotels, showrooms, concept stores or collectible interiors.
