A striking large sunburst wall mirror dating from the 1950s, crafted entirely from carved wood with a gilt gold finish. At its centre, a 31 cm diameter circular mirror is framed by a sculpted border of waves in high relief, surrounded by a dense arrangement of radiating wooden rays. Set in staggered tiers, each ray is individually carved with longitudinal fluting that catches the surrounding light and emphasises the dramatic solar composition. Measuring an impressive 101 cm in overall diameter, the mirror has a strong architectural presence while retaining the decorative elegance associated with post-war European interiors.
