This Italian table lamp dates from the 1960s and is a distinctive example of Space Age lighting design. The lamp is composed of a black acrylic cube encasing an inner sphere made of white glass, creating a striking contrast between sharp geometric form and soft, diffused light. When illuminated, the glass sphere glows from within the dark acrylic frame, producing a sculptural and atmospheric effect typical of experimental Italian design from this period. The lamp shows signs of use, including visible scratches on the acrylic surface, consistent with age and decades of use, which contribute to its authentic vintage character. Both graphic and functional, this cube table lamp works well as an accent light or sculptural object in modern, retro, or design focused interiors.
