An iconic industrial wall-mounted task lamp designed by Curt Fischer for Midgard, Germany, during the 1950s. A pioneering figure in modern lighting design, Fischer is widely recognised as the inventor of the articulated task lamp, and his innovative designs became synonymous with the Bauhaus movement, where they were used by Walter Gropius, Wilhelm Wagenfeld, Marianne Brandt and other influential designers. This authentic vintage example features Midgard's renowned articulated arm system, allowing the lamp to be effortlessly positioned for precise directional lighting. Originally developed for factories and workshops, it combines exceptional functionality with timeless industrial aesthetics. Professionally restored, cleaned, fully rewired and PAT safety tested, the lamp is fitted with an external cable and plug for immediate use, although it can also be hardwired with concealed wiring if preferred. Supplied with an E27 LED bulb, it is presented in excellent original vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use. A highly collectible lighting piece, ideal for Industrial, Bauhaus, Mid Century Modern and Contemporary interiors.
