A striking Ice Glass chandelier by J.T. Kalmar, manufactured in Austria during the 1970s and representing one of the maker’s most recognisable Mid-Century Modern lighting styles. Numerous individually cast textured glass panels with heavily frosted, ice-like surfaces are arranged in overlapping vertical columns around a two-tier chrome-finished metal frame. The irregular glass captures and scatters illumination across its sculptural surface, producing a warm, faceted glow while contrasting beautifully with the geometric cylindrical construction. Suspended from a central rod and chrome ceiling canopy, the chandelier creates a substantial architectural presence ideal above a dining table or within an entrance hall or stairwell.
