An iconic H 70 adjustable lounge chair designed by Jindřich Halabala for UP Závody in the 1930s, representing the functional elegance of interwar Czechoslovak Modernism. The sculptural frame is crafted from bent beechwood, with sweeping curved armrests and a cantilevered profile that reflects the influence of Bauhaus and Functionalist design. Its adjustable reclining backrest combines ergonomic comfort with Halabala’s practical approach to modern furniture. The wooden frame remains in excellent original condition, structurally sound and enriched by a warm natural patina. The cushions have been newly upholstered in cream-white bouclé, using traditional techniques while retaining and restoring the original spring construction. A refined and highly functional example of 1930s Czech design.
