The Flora vase lamp, designed by Carlo Nason and produced by Linea GB in Italy during the 1970s, is a rare hybrid object that combines lighting and floral display in one sculptural form. Made from handblown Murano glass, the spherical body is divided into three horizontal sections, with an opaque white central band framed by grey smoked glass above and below. When illuminated, the milky glass diffuses the light into a soft ambient glow, while the opening at the top allows the piece to function as a vase for a single flower or branch without compromising its clean silhouette. Documented in the Carlo Nason monograph Handle With Care, Flora reflects Nason’s talent for merging sculpture and utility with quiet precision. The lamp remains in very good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age, and the electrics have been checked and are in working order.
