This iconic F444 lounge chair by Pierre Paulin for Artifort, designed in the 1960s, is a refined example of Dutch Mid Century design. The chair features a tensioned black leather sling suspended within a sleek chromed steel frame, creating a sculptural balance between structure and flexibility. Its distinctive folded form, defined by a central seam, adapts to the body while maintaining a strong architectural presence. The low seating position enhances comfort and reinforces its lounge character. This early example retains the original Artifort label and was acquired from its first owner, adding to its authenticity and collectability. The leather shows a soft, even patina with light wear consistent with age, while the chrome frame remains in very good condition. A timeless and sought after design piece.
