The F416 easy chair was designed by Kho Liang Ie for Artifort and represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of Dutch modern design. As one of Artifort’s most influential designers and aesthetic consultants, Kho Liang Ie helped guide the company to international recognition through innovative and forward looking designs. When introduced, the F416 offered a new design language by combining soft, inviting upholstery with a clearly articulated and rigid structure. The frame is composed of brushed stainless steel, black coated metal, and plywood slats, creating a strong architectural base that contrasts elegantly with the cushioned seating. The cushions have been reupholstered in high quality Panama leather, enhancing comfort while respecting the original character of the design. The chair is in very good condition, showing only minor signs of wear on the metal base consistent with age and use. A refined and highly collectible piece that embodies the balance between structure, comfort, and modernist clarity.
