Designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa and produced by B and B Italia in Italy during the 1970s, the Erasmo modular sofa is a significant example of Italian modern seating defined by comfort, innovation, and geometric clarity. This model features an injection-molded foam structure upholstered in its original exceptionally soft fabric, now presenting a nuanced blue and brown tone due to natural discoloration over time, a characteristic also visible on the second example available. Composed of two modular elements with integrated armrests, the sofa follows clean, regular lines typical of the Scarpa’s architectural approach to furniture design. Cylindrical brown plastic feet support the structure, adding a subtle industrial accent. The sofa retains its original B and B Italia label as well as the original iron connection elements, confirming authenticity. Offered in used vintage condition, it shows visible wear consistent with age and use, while remaining structurally sound and extremely comfortable.
