This leather armchair by Ib Kofod-Larsen, based on the celebrated Elisabeth chair design, is a refined example of mid-century Scandinavian seating defined by elegant form and comfort. The chair features a light wood frame that contrasts beautifully with the dark tobacco brown leather upholstery, highlighting the sculptural lines that make this design instantly recognizable. The seat cushion shows a gentle patina and offers excellent seating comfort, while the leather on the backrest displays only minimal pressure marks and very little wear. The armchair is in excellent overall condition and retains a strong visual presence, making it a standout piece in any interior. Produced by the Fröscher manufactory, a company founded in the 1920s by August Fröscher and later associated with the Rosenthal furniture group, the chair reflects the high production standards achieved through collaborations with notable designers. Ib Kofod-Larsen, renowned for designs such as the Penguin and Elisabeth chairs, brought a distinctive balance of lightness, ergonomics, and organic form to Danish modern design, all of which are evident in this armchair.
