An early Wassily Chair designed by Marcel Breuer, produced by Gavina, Italy, before the company was acquired by Knoll International in 1968. Originally conceived in 1925 at the Bauhaus in Dessau, the revolutionary B3 chair drew inspiration from the lightweight tubular frame of Breuer's Adler bicycle and became one of the defining icons of Modernist design. This early Gavina example features a polished chromed tubular steel frame with the original black hardware and has been professionally restored and reupholstered in striking black and white pony leather, preserving the chair's bold sculptural character. The suspended leather construction provides exceptional comfort while emphasising the innovative engineering that made the Wassily chair a design milestone. Highly collectible and perfectly suited to Modernist, Bauhaus and Contemporary interiors, this authentic vintage example is presented in excellent restored condition with its original hardware intact.
