Rare “Zam” folding chair designed in 1972 by De Pas, D’Urbino & Lomazzi for the short-lived Italian manufacturer 2 Inn. Crafted in birch plywood, the chair embodies the trio’s radical early-1970s exploration of portable, essential seating forms. Its planar silhouette becomes sculptural when unfolded, while both the seat and floor support fold into a compact profile (closed: H74 × W43.5 × D12 cm). The warm birch grain highlights its clean geometry and reductionist aesthetic. Hinges and pivots are smartly resolved to preserve a crisp outline in both open and closed states. A rarely seen piece due to limited production, this example is in excellent vintage condition with minimal signs of use. A highly collectible work of Italian radical design, functional, architectural, and perfectly suited for curated interiors.
