The DD01 wall-mounted drawer unit was designed by Martin Visser in the 1950s and produced by ’t Spectrum in the Netherlands, reflecting the designer’s clear and functional modernist approach. The unit features a black lacquered metal frame designed for wall mounting, combined with a wooden drawer whose exterior is finished in white, creating a striking contrast of materials and tones. The deliberate placement of the wooden elements and the visibility of the joints give the piece a refined architectural character, emphasizing construction as a visual feature. The DD01 designation refers to the single-drawer configuration, with other variants such as the DD02 offering two drawers. This example remains in very good vintage condition, making it a highly desirable and versatile storage solution as well as a collectible piece of Dutch modern design.
