This sculptural picture frame was designed by David Marshall in Spain during the 1970s. Crafted from solid cast and polished brass, the freestanding frame features organic, brutalist lines and textured details characteristic of Marshall's distinctive foundry work. The structural brass base incorporates a channel designed to hold clear glass panes upright, allowing photographs, prints or works on paper to appear suspended within the frame. Combining functional design with a sculptural presence, the piece works equally well as a picture frame or decorative object. Its compact scale makes it ideal for a desk, console, sideboard or library shelf and complements Brutalist and Mid-Century Modern interiors. The brass base bears the cast David Marshall maker's mark.
