The Cromado 4950 Table Lamp by Gaetano Scolari for Metalarte is a striking example of experimental European lighting design from the 1980s. Produced in Spain, this sculptural lamp reflects the bold aesthetic language that defined Scolari’s work during the era, where reflective surfaces and geometric repetition took center stage. Constructed entirely from chromed metal, the lamp’s mirrored finish creates a dynamic play of light and reflection, transforming it into both a functional light source and a visual statement. The layered chrome elements amplify ambient light while emphasizing the architectural quality of the design, making it particularly suited to modern, minimalist, or design-driven interiors. Metalarte was renowned for collaborating with forward-thinking designers, and the Cromado series stands as a testament to their commitment to innovation and material excellence. This example is presented in very good condition, with light, age-appropriate wear consistent with its original manufacture, preserving its authentic character and sculptural presence.
