The Cromado 4832 table lamp, designed by André Ricard for Metalarte in the 1960s, is a striking example of mid-century Spanish lighting that balances sleek industrial materials with playful functionality. Crafted from chromed steel and lacquered metal, this piece emphasizes both modernist restraint and expressive surface finish, with a ventilated shade that diffuses light softly and offers directional play. Made in Spain, the Cromado 4832 captures the era’s enthusiasm for material experimentation and technical clarity. André Ricard’s design allows the adjustable shade to modulate how the light falls across surfaces, offering atmospheric illumination that adapts to its environment. The lamp’s polished finishes speak to a period when European makers fused practicality with refined aesthetics. This piece remains in used original condition, with some paint erosion on the base consistent with age, a testament to its authentic mid-century provenance. These age-related characteristics add charm and underscore its history without undermining overall presence. Ideal for collectors and interiors that celebrate iconic 20th-century design, the Cromado 4832 brings both sculptural allure and functional elegance to any setting.
