An iconic clamp-on industrial task lamp designed by Curt Fischer for Midgard, Germany, during the 1940s. Widely regarded as the inventor of the articulated task lamp, Fischer revolutionised industrial lighting with his innovative adjustable arm system, and his designs became closely associated with the Bauhaus movement, where they were used by Walter Gropius, Wilhelm Wagenfeld, Marianne Brandt and other influential designers. Originally intended for factory workbenches and workshops, this authentic vintage example features a robust clamp fixing and Midgard's celebrated articulated mechanism, allowing the lamp to be positioned with exceptional precision. Combining outstanding functionality with timeless industrial aesthetics, it is equally suited to desks, studios and contemporary workspaces. Expertly restored, professionally cleaned, fully rewired and PAT safety tested, the lamp is supplied ready for immediate use with an E27 LED bulb. Presented in excellent vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use, it remains a highly collectible piece of Bauhaus and German industrial design.
