A poetic ceramic horse sculpture by Spanish artist Víctor Ceprián Cortés, created during the 1980s and signed “V.C. Cortés” beneath the glaze. Handcrafted in stoneware, the sculpture reduces the horse to an expressive composition of elongated legs, an elegantly arched neck and a simplified head, capturing the animal’s quiet strength through a distinctly Modernist vocabulary. The tactile, predominantly unglazed surface preserves the earthy character of the clay, while restrained touches of warm pink and ochre introduce subtle tonal variation and emphasize the hand-modelled construction. Its combination of primitive-inspired abstraction and refined proportions gives the sculpture a timeless quality, allowing it to function equally as a collectible ceramic artwork or sculptural decorative object. The piece is accompanied by its original printed booklet, “Caballos,” documenting the artist’s work and exhibitions, adding valuable context and provenance. Presented in very good vintage condition.
