A distinctive Brutalist four-door sideboard designed by Jean Batenburg for MI in Belgium during the 1960s, crafted from solid oak with a deep ebonized finish. The restrained rectangular case contrasts with an expressive façade of deeply faceted oak panels arranged in a repeating diamond pattern, creating a sculptural three-dimensional surface that changes subtly with the surrounding light. Four doors open to reveal a contrasting lighter oak interior, partially fitted with shelves and offering generous storage. The original keys are present. Presented in good vintage condition, the dark finish shows rubbing, scratches, small marks and areas of wear, particularly along the top, edges and doors, revealing the warmer natural oak beneath in places and contributing to its authentic patina.
