A rare monumental “Le Passage du Temps” textile artwork by Bernard Quentin (1923–2020), produced by Swiss textile atelier TISCA in 1998 in a limited edition of eight. Measuring an impressive 170 × 248 cm, the composition reflects Quentin’s exploration of semiotic and scriptural art, transforming language into visual rhythm rather than conventional text. Fragmented repetitions of “LE PASSAGE DU TEMPS” unfold across a grey and black field, interrupted by a bold red gesture that creates a powerful sense of movement and temporal rupture. The work occupies a fascinating space between fine art, conceptual textile and architectural installation, particularly significant within Quentin’s oeuvre, which is primarily associated with painting, sculpture and relief. The textile is signed directly by Bernard Quentin and marked “98 3/8,” identifying the year 1998 and edition 3 of 8. The reverse retains its original TISCA manufacturer’s label, documenting the design reference and dimensions and supporting its authorised production and provenance.
