A distinctive Art Deco side table by Mikko Nupponen, produced in Lahti, Finland, during the 1930s, combining strong architectural geometry with practical storage. Crafted in warm stained birch with contrasting black-painted edges, the table is composed of stacked horizontal planes, asymmetrically positioned supports and a cantilevered structure that gives it a particularly sculptural presence. An open shelf and lower drawer provide useful storage while maintaining the clean, geometric composition. The interplay between warm timber and graphic black detailing reflects the transition from Nordic Art Deco towards early Finnish Functionalism.
