A distinctive armchair designed by Miroslav Navrátil and manufactured by Krkonošský Nábytek Vrchlabí in Czechoslovakia, circa 1980. The angular geometric frame is crafted from solid beechwood, with four horizontal wooden slats forming the open backrest and gently curved armrests softening the chair’s architectural silhouette. The original wooden frame retains its period finish, showing natural wear and light fading while remaining structurally solid. The seat has been newly reupholstered in a Cubist-inspired fabric by ROMO UK, introducing a graphic pattern that complements the strong geometry of the design. An expressive example of late 20th-century Czechoslovak furniture combining functional construction with bold Modernist character.
