This sculptural arc shaped table lamp was designed by French designer Georges Frydman and exemplifies refined minimalist design. Formed from a solid circular tube of heavy cast aluminum, the lamp features a clean continuous curve finished in white lacquer, emphasizing its architectural clarity and material presence. The substantial weight of the cast aluminum gives the piece stability and a sense of permanence, while the smooth lacquered surface enhances its modern aesthetic. Emitting a soft yet direct light, the lamp functions both as practical illumination and as a striking visual focal point within a room. The lamp remains in very good condition with some age appropriate signs of use that underscore its authentic character.
About the designer: Georges Frydman was born in France in 1924. He quickly became passionate about interior furnishing after meeting Le Corbusier, an architect and designer whom he really admired.
In 1954, he founded the Functional Equipment of the House which will become the company EFA. He then organizes in Nice a showroom dedicated to his company, the journalist André Bloc notices his work and praises it in his magazine L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui.
In 1966, Frydman received the highly acclaimed René Gabriel Award, a tribute to quality and economic serial furniture line designers.
