A distinctive 20th-century sculptural stoneware object inspired by the organic form of a chestnut emerging from its burr. Hand-modelled in gres, the piece explores the contrast between rough natural textures and smooth polished surfaces through an expressive combination of ceramic techniques. The outer husk is covered in a matte, textured glaze in earthy beige and cream tones, with prominent individually modelled spikes giving the sculpture a tactile, almost Brutalist character.
