A distinctive Modernist three-light candlestick attributed to Roger Tallon for Ravinet d’Enfert, dating from the 1970s and distinguished by its documented history as a French sporting award. The piece bears the engraved inscription “C.N.G.T. 1ER PRIX VINCENNES 1978,” recording its presentation as a first prize at the Vincennes event of the Circuit National des Grands Tournois tennis circuit in 1978. Executed in silver-plated metal, the sculptural composition features three substantial cylindrical candle holders raised on circular bases and connected by a sweeping curved central element. This interplay of cylinders, circles and flowing lines creates a dynamic architectural silhouette characteristic of late Mid-Century French design. The silver-plated surface has developed an attractive natural patina, with light marks and wear consistent with age that preserve the authentic vintage character of the object. Combining functional design, precise metalwork and an unusual documented provenance, this candlestick works equally well as a decorative sculpture or functional centerpiece.
